Vegan Chocolate Shake

This is a small variation on the original Blendtec recipe that comes out more like a milkshake instead of chocolate milk. It tastes more nutty than a regular chocolate shake, but it’s not bad on a hot day.


  • 1/2 cup raw cashews
  • approx 24 oz ice cubes
  • 5 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 1/2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • dash of cinnamon
  • dash of salt


Add all the ingredients to the jar in the order listed. Add enough water to bring the level of liquid up to the 24 oz line.

Run on the smoothie cycle or 50 seconds on medium speed.

Serve immediately. If you have to save it in the fridge, be sure to re-stir before drinking, as the solids will settle.
